Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This policy explains how find-opportunity, a personal application operated by Ian Morrison, handles information when it uses Google services.
Who operates the app
find-opportunity is operated by Ian Morrison, Cambridge, United Kingdom. Contact: ian.morrison@gmail.com
What the app does
find-opportunity sends email messages from Ian Morrison's own Gmail account (ian.morrison@gmail.com) as part of his personal job search and business outreach. It is not offered to the public, and no other person's Google account is connected to it.
Google user data the app accesses
The app requests a single Google permission: the Gmail "send" scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send). This allows the app to send email on the account owner's behalf. It does not allow the app to read, search, modify or delete any email, contacts or other mailbox content, and the app does not do so.
How the data is used and stored
- The OAuth credentials that let the app send email are stored securely as server-side configuration and are never published or shared.
- Messages are composed by the account owner and sent only to recipients the account owner has chosen.
- The app does not sell, rent or share Google user data with anyone, and does not use it for advertising.
- The app does not use Google user data to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Limited Use
find-opportunity's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Recipients of emails
If you receive an email sent through this app, your email address and any reply you send are handled in Gmail in the same way as any other correspondence with Ian Morrison. They are kept only as long as needed for that correspondence. You can ask for your details to be deleted at any time by emailing ian.morrison@gmail.com.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete personal information held about you, or object to its use. Contact ian.morrison@gmail.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Revoking access
The account owner can revoke the app's access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
